Privacy Statement and Use of Personal Data.
The journal árbolQestional, published by the University of Guadalajara, recognizes the importance of protecting the personal data of authors, reviewers, readers, editorial board members, and other users of its publishing platform.
Personal data collected through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and institutional communication channels will be used exclusively for academic, editorial, administrative, and scientific dissemination purposes related to the journal’s operations.
The information provided by users may include, among other data: name, institutional affiliation, country of affiliation, email address, academic identifiers (ORCID or similar), as well as any information necessary for the registration, review, editing, publication, preservation, and indexing of academic works.
The journal uses this data solely to:
- Manage user registration on the publishing platform.
- Manage the processes of submission, review, revision, editing, and publication of manuscripts.
- Maintain communication among authors, reviewers, editors, and other participants in the editorial process.
- Ensure the correct academic identification of authors and their scientific contributions.
- Facilitate the processes of indexing, interoperability, digital preservation, and dissemination of published content.
The personal data provided will not be sold, marketed, or used for purposes other than those set forth herein. Furthermore, it will not be shared with third parties outside the journal’s editorial processes, except when required by law or when necessary for academic, technological, digital preservation, persistent identification, or scientific indexing services related to the publication of the content.
In the case of published articles, the journal will make public only those academic details necessary for the identification, citation, retrieval, and impact of the publications, such as the author’s name, institutional affiliation, academic identifiers, country of affiliation, a brief biographical summary when applicable, and other editorial metadata authorized by the authors themselves.
The journal protects the confidentiality of manuscripts submitted for review, as well as the reviews issued by peer reviewers. All documentation related to the review processes will be used exclusively for editorial purposes and in accordance with the evaluation model established by the journal.
Users may at any time request access to, correction of, updating of, deletion of, or objection to their personal data, in accordance with applicable Mexican legislation on the protection of personal data and the current institutional regulations of the University of Guadalajara.
The journal takes reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the information in its custody against loss, alteration, unauthorized access, or misuse.
Registration and use of the publishing platform imply acceptance of this Privacy Statement. Any changes to this policy will be published in a timely manner on the journal’s official website.
